Botox® – Anti-Aging Injections in Dallas with Dr. Bryan Armijo

Correcting the early signs of aging doesn’t always require surgery. Injectable neuromodulators like Botox®, Dypsort®, Xeomin®, and Jeuveau, provide a painless, convenient way to treat frown lines, crow’s feet, and other distracting creases. At his three convenient locations, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Bryan Armijo administers Botox® injections with meticulous care, ensuring complete patient comfort and beautiful results.

How does Botox® Work?

Botox® smooths wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the small groups of muscles that cause them. When Botox® is injected around the eyes and forehead, it blocks nerve signals and prevents the muscle contractions that cause wrinkles. After treatment, these muscles no longer become active when making a facial expression and, as a result, they don’t create creases in the skin. This leads to a dramatic reduction in the number of visible wrinkles in common problem areas.

How is Botox® Performed?

When administering Botox® injections, Dr. Armijo may apply ice or a topical anesthetic cream to the patient’s skin, depending on the patient’s preference, to prevent discomfort. Dr. Armijo then injects tiny amounts of Botox® into areas where dynamic wrinkles are present. Generally, this includes the temples, forehead, and brow area, but patients may also choose Botox® to treat neck creases and smile lines.Botox® appointments generally last between 15 minutes to half an hour, and you’ll be free to resume all of your normal activities immediately after your treatment. You won’t have to take time off work or rest after having Botox®.

How Long Does Botox® Last?

One round of Botox® injections will typically produce visible results that last for three to four months; you can choose to maintain your results by arranging another treatment session. After several Botox® treatments, most patients only need to receive maintenance injections once every five to six months. This is because repeated Botox® injections gradually trains the muscles and produces fewer wrinkles.

What are the Benefits of Botox®?

For most patients, the major advantage of Botox® is that it doesn’t require any downtime. Patients also report being drawn to Botox® because it has a very low risk of complications: This procedure won’t cause scarring, bleeding, or significant bruising, and adverse reactions to Botox® are extremely rare. Generally, the only side effects patients experience after having Botox® are slight redness around their injection sites and, sometimes, a mild headache.

Though most people turn to Botox® to combat the visible signs of aging, Botox® has over 20 different medical applications, too. Botox® can be used to treat chronic migraine headaches, facial tics and spasms, TMJ, and excess sweating, among others. When you come in for a consultation, Dr. Armijo will review your medical history and discuss any applicable medical benefits of neuromodulator injections.

Why Choose Dr. Armijo for Botox® Injections?

Botox® should only be injected by a qualified practitioner, such as a board-certified plastic surgeon. Board-certified plastic surgeons work in hygienic, licensed facilities and only use authentic products, which is integral to patient safety. Plastic surgeons also have an advanced knowledge of facial anatomy that allows them to target the muscle groups responsible for creating wrinkles precisely. This is important because injecting too much Botox®, or injecting it in the wrong places, can produce an unnatural, frozen look. As one of the prestigious Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute’s most experienced aesthetic and reconstructive surgeons, Dr. Armijo has the training and background needed to create subtle, graceful Botox® results.

Who Makes a Good Candidate for Botox® Injections?

Most healthy adults over the age of 25 make good candidates for Botox® injections. However, you should not have Botox® if you are currently pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients with compromised immune systems, bleeding disorders, multiple severe allergies, and other serious health conditions should also avoid the use of injectable treatments.
